Абрахам Босс (фр. Abraham Bosse; 1604, Тур, 1 февраля (или 14 февраля) 1676, Париж) — французский гравёр, мастер офорта. Его работы предоставляют из себя множество изображений церемоний, празднований и жизни простого народа своего времени.

Тому, кто любит "мушкетерскую" эпоху и эпоху Людовика 14, будет интересно.




В истории офорта место почетного учителя по праву принадлежит Абрахаму Боссу, чей учебник офорта Traicté des manières de graver en taille douce sur l'airain par le moyen des eaux-fortes (1645) переведен на десятки языков (включая японский).








Сын Луи Босса, костюмера немецкого происхождения, иммигрировавшего в Тур, в 1629, он встречает в Париже великого офортиста-новатора Жака Калло, и эта встреча предопределяет как его будущий творческий путь, так и беззаветную преданность офорту.



Меланхолия. 1634-1650

Этот изобретательный, пусть и лишенный воображения, художник оставил нам огромное наследие: 1506 офорт, выполненный собственноручно, и 31, исполненный по его рисункам другими художниками.

Отстаивая принципы перспективы Дезарга, Босс ведет нескончаемую борьбу с Королевской Академией Живописи и Скульптуры. Именно его борьбе с Академией мы вообще обязаны тем, что нам известно о его жизненном пути. Человек неистощимой энергии, отец десяти детей, он всю жизнь наставляет, пишет, яростно отстаивает свои взгляды

 Умения искусно населять роскошные интерьеры элегантными мужчинами и женщинами, одетыми по моде Луи XIII, на время правления которого приходится начало его карьеры. Сын костюмера умел в лучшем свете представить костюмы своей эпохи, и мы можем рассматривать многие из его графических листов, прежде всего как форму "рекламы " семейной продукции.
